By emphasizing horizontal and vertical directional qualities and focusing on negative space, this piece speaks a contemporary design language. This piece is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural and furniture design styles and conventions. His furniture, specifically seating, had perfect 90-degree angles, forcing the user to sit straight up. Stacking Chair and Table becomes architecture-inspired furniture that invites users to stack and unstack its parts, upholding and reiterating furniture’s inherent interactive core.
