Trying to creatively combat the waste produced by woodturning, these wood shavings are perfectly enclosed within a clear handsewn vinyl to store a carbon neutral and to remind the user to be sustainable and mindful of their surrounding environments. This project works to unveil the simplicity and passage of time of pillows, which stems from understanding their cultural and technological advancement within a larger art historical-related framework. Contemporary design, in this case, works to juxtapose the idea of how pillows were first created with materials like hay, straw, alfalfa, and/or animal feathers.
